Your Gift Gets Us Moving: Help T.J. Get a Tractor for Colorado Farm to Table

Every farm needs good soil, water, seeds, and people who care. But there’s another essential ingredient that can make all the difference between a long day in the field and a productive growing season: a dependable tractor.

This Colorado Gives Day, Colorado Farm to Table (CFTT) is launching its first-ever tractor and equipment campaign, with a goal of raising $50,000 to purchase a tractor and the implements T.J. McDaniel needs to put it to work. Your gift will help equip our farm for the seasons ahead and strengthen our ability to grow and distribute fresh food to Colorado communities.

What Is Colorado Gives Day?

Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide celebration of generosity that brings Coloradans together to support the nonprofits making a difference in their communities. Through ColoradoGives.org, individuals, families, and businesses can discover organizations they care about and make donations to support their missions. Early giving allows donors to contribute before the official day, helping nonprofits build momentum and reach their fundraising goals.

For Colorado Farm to Table, Colorado Gives Day is an opportunity to invest in something tangible: the equipment that helps us grow fresh vegetables, harvest them at the right time, and deliver them to food banks, pantries, and soup kitchens serving people across Colorado.

This year, we're asking our community to help us get moving. Literally.

We Need a Tractor.

Not because tractors are glamorous. Not because we're trying to buy the fanciest piece of equipment on the farm.

But simply because we are a farm.

And a farm needs a tractor!

Farm Director T.J. McDaniel knows that successful farming depends on timing, preparation, and the ability to respond when conditions are right. Seeds need to go into the ground at the right moment. Fields need preparation. Materials need moving. And when vegetables are ready, they need to be harvested, loaded, and sent on their way.

A reliable tractor would make all these jobs easier and more efficient.

We're planning for a Massey Ferguson M Series tractor with a front-end loader—a versatile, practical workhorse that can help T.J. tackle the many demands of running a productive farm.

With a dependable tractor, T.J. could get into the fields when work needs to happen, move materials, load pallets of freshly harvested produce, and help prepare our growing areas for future seasons. Its smaller, nimble size would also allow us to work more efficiently as we organize the farm into more intentional growing areas.

In short, a tractor would do more than move dirt. It would help move our mission forward.

More Time Growing Food. More Food for Our Communities.

At Colorado Farm to Table, the goal is always the same: grow, harvest, and distribute fresh produce at no cost to food banks, soup kitchens, and pantries.

Every season brings its own challenges, from unpredictable weather and limited irrigation water to the many tasks that must be completed within a narrow window of opportunity. When equipment is unreliable or work takes longer than it should, precious time and energy are diverted from the heart of our mission.

A dependable tractor would give T.J. a practical tool he can count on for many growing seasons to come. It would help reduce the time spent moving materials and preparing fields, make harvest logistics more manageable, and allow our team to concentrate on what matters most: growing good food, caring for the land, and feeding our community.

And the benefits won't stop with one season. This is an investment in the farm's long-term capacity, helping us make the most of our land, our volunteers, and every growing opportunity.

Put Some Horsepower Behind Your Gift

Our goal is to raise $50,000 for a tractor and the equipment needed to make it useful on the farm. Every contribution brings us closer to putting this essential tool in TJ's hands.

Here's how you can help:

  • $75 — Help fuel the campaign. Every dollar adds momentum.

  • $150 — Put a little horsepower behind the mission.

  • $250 — Help us get into gear.

  • $500 — Put serious traction behind the campaign.

  • $1,000 — Become a Tractor Champion.

  • $5,000 — Help drive the campaign to the finish line.

Gifts of every size matter. When our community comes together, individual contributions add up to something powerful: the ability to grow and distribute more fresh food, more efficiently, for years to come.

Help Us Grow a Stronger Future

Colorado Farm to Table was founded in 1996 with a simple idea: grow fresh produce and give it to people who need it. Three decades later, that mission continues because of the generosity of donors, the dedication of volunteers, and the commitment of people who believe everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food.

This Colorado Gives Day, you can help us take the next step.

Give T.J. the tools he needs to grow good food. Help Colorado Farm to Table keep our fields productive, our harvest moving, and fresh vegetables reaching communities across Colorado.

Because every farm needs a tractor—and every tractor needs a community willing to help put it to work.

Your gift gets us moving!
