The Colorado Farm To
Table produce growing operation began nine years ago due to one man's love for growing
produce. Tony Madone, with the help of volunteers, is raising produce for the sole
purpose of providing fresh produce to soup kitchens, food pantries and warehouses
across Southern Colorado at no charge to these organizations.
In 2005, Tony and his
wife Kay were asked to expand this ministry in order to supply produce to organizations
outside of the immediate area. Some of the communities that were reached were: Salida,
Buena Vista, Denver, Alamosa, Leadville, Westcliffe, and Montrose.
The need for fresh
produce to be supplied to soup kitchens, food pantries, and food warehouses is ever
growing. It is our hope that many thousands of people throughout
these communities will continue to benefit from the produce of the Colorado Farm
To Table Project.
